Van Zant- "Always look up"
In our days of infidelity, selfishness and "atheism' a band, or to be more accurate, two Southern men who honor their pants decided to release a Christian country/Southern rock album. Despite the laughter and the teasing of the left wing fascists around the world, Johnny VZ singer of legendary LYNYRD SKYNYRD and Donnie VZ singer of 38 SPECIAL put their faith on their sleeve and delivered a heartful, uplifting album. If you can't stand the original and true positivity that real faith in God and human, Christianity means, skip the rest of the review and stuck at the devil's nonsense Black Metal music, egocentric pop, rap, trap,or even worse, islamic and other hate loving religions, inspired albums by a variety of artists out there.
The VZ brothers with a sound that owes more to 38 SPECIAL and their AOR inclined Southern Rock honor also their Southern SKYNYRD roots at the lengthy and epic "Jesus Christ' are singing for the love of believing and praying to the Lord, the higher power who spreads love all around. Most of the spiritual people will connect with the deeper meanings of the album, even if they're not Cristians or definitely don't visualize the higher power as God/Jesus. But VZ wont bother, they pray and sing about love, humility, solidarity, the core issues of Christianity and they touch your deeper feelings, even if you are an infidel, except if you re deaf. Musical , the album is a nice AOR/Southern rock with country touches album ,that has echoes of 38 SPECIAL,LYNYRD SKYNYRD, MOLLY HATCHET plus some FM country and it's an interesting counterbalance to the Christian metal of STRYPER and BARREN CROSS. Songs like "Stand Up","Warrior" "Praying", "Its up to you" and 'Holy moment' combine the strength and positivity of the Gospels with the power of guitar driven Southern rock.
Highly recommended to uplift yourself during hard times ,when music needs to serve a bigger purpose.
