Philip Shouse- "Side 1" ep (Wild Kingdom/Sound Pollution)

An album that starts with a STONES/BEATLES storm bringer like the fast chord, beatlesque melodic "Run away from you" will definitely attract your attention. In five songs, in the most traditional yet inspired way Philip Shouse brings decades of rock tradition in a few songs.

Listen to the main melody of "The naked empress" and think about THE BEATLES, THE KINKS, Swinging London but also JELLYFISH and REDD KROSS and the musical essence of the artist is here ,laying naked in front of you. Songs for the sake of the listener and not the indulgence of the artist, pop, melody, rock, guitars, all in an amalgam that stays as a tune to the listeners ears and mind hours after the listening, a sing a long, radio friendly attack that is ready for massive airplay. The more acoustic ,mid tempo "It gets better' has a more Settle/Southern rock/Tom Petty feeling and is another mid tempo crowd pleaser. "Won't let go again" is a more acoustic, LED ZEPPELIN /Middle East influenced tune with the BEATLES influence again main, at the vocals, or to be more precise, the harmonies.Closing track "Time bomb" is another STONES wanna be , full of groove and swagger rocker, a honky tonk , dirty and rocking tune that i ready to explode as the title implies.

Shouse is known for his work with ACCEPT, Gene Simmons, and Ace Frehley as a member, or touring guitarist. Now in his first solo work he presents a total different face, a far more 60s-70s oriented and definitely more classic rock oriented. His music is fresh, inspired and deserves to get to the more classic rock followers possible.
