LETHAL X- "90 tons of thunder"
Listening to this album with no look at the info, got me puzzled, the RACER X mark was all over it and after seeking more information it all became crystal clear. Jeff Martin, drummer and singer for RACER X made this new band with Harry Gschösser on drums,Mike Szuter on bass and Milan Polak on guitar they have created a great JUDAS PRIEST like metal album with the participation of Paul Gilbert in a few songs along with Billy Sheehan.
American Heavy metal influenced from the golden days of PRIEST were talking about the "Defenders of the faith" era, with amazing guitar dwelling and great vocal melodies. The main axe man who drives the band is Milan Polak a talented musician who works perfectly and in harmony with Gilbert at songs like "Daredevil". On the other hand the band has its own style a bit modern and more aggressive at songs like "Dead By Sunday", "Tormental", "God, Guts, Faith and Glory" more classic metal at others "Fallen", "Running Away From Freedom", showing that they don't want to regenerate the golden 80s but on the contrary to leave their mark as a solid American metal band who likes the heavy metal at its purest form, the one that was taught by the mighty PRIEST but adding their own elements.
LETHAL X is a band that creates aggressive metal music, loving the heavy on the heavy metal title, injecting it with guitar driven melody that aims straight to the heart of the listener with melodic, razor sharp riffs. A real successor to RACER X , they deliver on their footsteps without copying, only inspired by their own musical legacy with Jeff Martin proving he still got more than enough to deliver, in the metal scene.
An injection of freshness and authenticity in the US metal scene of today where trends are stronger than musicianship.
