SOCIAL DISTORTION-"Born to kill" (Epitaph)

The return of Mike Ness and Co in the recording action, is refreshed and rejuvenated. With a sound clear and crisp, reminiscent of the "Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell" (era ,less blurry than the ;'White light,White heat,White trash" era, created the perfect SD album.

Punk, garage, rock n roll, less blues and country, addictive melodies, stories from the neighbourhood and lots of guitars are the elements of an album, that is essential SD.Dont expect anything else than uptempo rockers, emotionally charged songs and a cover you didt see coming. The boys are in full form, writing songs like "Born to Kill" and "No Way Out" are brute melodic punk rock, the old way while nostalgia comes at "The Way Things Were" and melodic fury at "Tonight".

SD never hid their love for twelve bar rock n roll and the 50s-60s and  "Crazy Dreamer" (featuring Lucinda Williams) is the best proof of it. While more unexpected and yet mesmerizing is the cover version of "Wicked Game" (Chris Isaak). The band is in fine form and you can see /listen to that at "Walk Away (Don't Look Back)" a gutsy rocker ,"Never Goin' Back Again" and  "Don't Keep Me Hanging On" while heart breaking  "Over You" closes the album in class.

SOCIAL DISTORTION gave us an album that will make every fan proud, an album that touches heart and sentiments, more clear sonically ten their previous works, but still rocking . Their latest work is among their best, a true rock al;bum in the days of overcomplexity or mimicking, original from the heart, with loud guitars and haunting melodies.
